Blood, Sweat, and Tears, TEST 8, International Bicycle Parking Lot, Allston, Ma, July 2005
Giving of time and energy / work vs. art / choices / giving and getting back / recognition / responsibility
I drag up a large heavy case in front of a brick wall. I open the case and begin to tape photocopied photographs of the kids that I have been working with for the last four years…(about 30 – 8 1/2 x 11), at the same time pre-recorded sounds of my art room are playing…kids laughing, talking, approaching the microphone, etc. I close my case, cover it with a plastic cloth and place 3 flat plastic dishes each labeled (blood, sweat, and tears). I proceed to collect each (blade, workout suit, and onions). I distribute all three bodily fluids onto my business cards and hand them out to the audience members. I pack up may case and go.
